MedeA® is now available to run natively on Linux

Materials Design® announces the release of MedeA® version 2.7, offering the option to run natively on Linux in addition to many other enhancements. The operating systems now fully supported by MedeAare Windows (XP, Vista, and 7), and Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Fedora, Ubuntu, Debian, SUSE).

In addition, MedeA® also connects to computing resources in the background for large-scale computationally intensive tasks that use a variety of Unix flavors and queuing systems, as well as Windows HPC.

In addition, MedeA® version 2.7 incorporates VASP version 5.2.11 for 64-bit architectures, which responds to feedback from hundreds of users following the groundbreaking release of VASP 5.2. VASP version 5.2.11 provides an enhanced user experience and improvements when running in parallel and on multi-core computer clusters.

VASP 5.2, which was released in mid 2009, represents a breakthrough in the calculation of electronic and optical properties for semiconductors and insulators of industrial importance.
