As the “father of Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (ICME)”, Prof. Olson will explain how accurate density functional calculations have profoundly changed the field of materials design and enabled the acceleration of the development of new alloys such as high-performance steels for aerospace applications. Based on his tremendous experience, he will give us a perspective of the field of computational materials engineering with recommendations for the next generation of engineers.
