Presented by Marianna Yiannourakou and the Materials Design Support Team

This session will focus specifically on MedeA GIBBS, a powerful Monte Carlo simulation engine that employs state-of-the-art techniques and methods to compute material properties. Participants will be introduced to the advanced capabilities of this tool and learn how to leverage them for accurate property calculations.

Who should attend? This online MedeA GIBBS training is ideal for researchers, engineers, and professionals interested in mastering advanced computational modeling techniques. Participants at all experience levels are welcome —from complete newcomers to MedeA to seasoned users looking to expand their expertise with Monte Carlo simulations.  Whether you're exploring atomistic modeling for the first time or seeking to enhance your computational toolkit, this training provides practical insights and hands-on learning opportunities.

  • Hour 2: Multi-phase simulations - exploring phase equilibria and properties across different phases

  • Hour 3: Sorption simulations - calculating adsorption isotherms and related properties

  • Hour 4: Advanced workflows and integration with other MedeA modules

What You Will Receive:

  • Comprehensive training materials and resources.

  • Live demonstrations with hands-on practice sessions.

  • Expert instruction from experienced professionals.

  • Complimentary 14-day evaluation license for MedeA GIBBS to continue your exploration beyond the live session.

MedeA Hardware and OS Recommendations:

For optimal training participation, we highly recommend that attendees install the MedeA software environment on their computers. Following successful registration you will receive access to the MedeA platform. The MedeA software runs on Intel and AMD-based hardware with Windows or Linux operating systems.

Supported Systems:

  • Processors: Intel or AMD (x86/x64)

  • Operating Systems: Windows or Linux

  • Note: While ARM-based hardware such as Apple M1 processors is not natively supported, the software can run successfully on such systems when used with an appropriate virtualization environment.
