MedeA GIBBS Training
A unique online training session featuring the industry-leading MedeA atomistic simulation environment is scheduled for July 17, 2025. This session will focus specifically on MedeA GIBBS, a powerful Monte Carlo simulation engine that employs state-of-the-art techniques and methods to compute material properties. Participants will be introduced to the advanced capabilities of this tool and learn how to leverage them for accurate property calculations.
Who should attend? This online MedeA GIBBS training is ideal for researchers, engineers, and professionals interested in mastering advanced computational modeling techniques. Participants at all experience levels are welcome —from complete newcomers to MedeA to seasoned users looking to expand their expertise with Monte Carlo simulations. Whether you're exploring atomistic modeling for the first time or seeking to enhance your computational toolkit, this training provides practical insights and hands-on learning opportunities.
Training Details:
Date: Thursday, July 17, 2025
Start Time: 8 am PT / 11 am ET / 5 pm CEST
Duration: 4 hours (including breaks and Q&A sessions)
Platform: Virtual only (details will be provided upon registration)
Format: Attendees get access to MedeA to install the software on their computers. With the software successfully installed, each attendee can work through selected tutorials with the assistance of the support team of Materials Design.
Fee: $300 per participant, $250 for customers under maintenance
Training Agenda:
Hour 1: Single phase simulations - computing thermodynamic properties for pure fluids and fluid mixtures
Hour 2: Multi-phase simulations - exploring phase equilibria and properties across different phases
Hour 3: Sorption simulations - calculating adsorption isotherms and related properties
Hour 4: Advanced workflows and integration with other MedeA modules

MedeA Hardware and OS Recommendations:
For optimal training participation, we highly recommend that attendees install the MedeA software environment on their computers. Following successful registration you will receive access to the MedeA platform. The MedeA software runs on Intel and AMD-based hardware with Windows or Linux operating systems.

Processors: Intel or AMD (x86/x64)
Operating Systems: Windows or Linux
Note: While ARM-based hardware such as Apple M1 processors is not natively supported, the software can run successfully on such systems when used with an appropriate virtualization environment.
